A War of Reasoning
'Just take a look around you, what do you see?
Pain, suffering, and misery
It's not the way the world was planned
It's a pity you don't understand'
- "Killing Yourself to Live",
by Black Sabbath, from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
In a certain nation embroiled in warfare, during an Arms Parade meant to boost morale, an inexplicable enemy attack is conducted. Smoke covers the stage, and moments
later only a gruesome display is left: the scorched bodies of the soldiers, the attackers nowhere in sight.
The brass, at a loss and suspecting treason, sends out the
49th Investigative Team―better known as the Rat Squad―headed by Captain Tokiji Urota, whose fiery determination won't let her rest until every party involved has been
brought before the firing squad. Things don't get any easier for her, however, as the case keeps spiraling deeper into the heart of the military―and every time it does,
it seems to go according to the predictions of a certain treacherous soldier, sneering from behind his prison bars.
